4:30pm to 3:00am aprox

Tour departs from Barcelona at 3.30pm in a comfortable vehicle to Girona, beautiful walled city, where you will enjoy a walking tour of the old quarter with your local guide. Girona has survived many siege in the course of its history since its founding in 76BC. It has been dominated by many different peoples, and as a result has a great richness of architectural heritage. So the best way to visit it is to lose yourself in the narrow streets, and discover the centuries of Moorish occupation (such as the amazing Arabian baths) or the Roman buildings (such as the Roman walls). Uncover the secrets of one of the best preserved Jewish quarters in Europe and get surprised by the beauty of the river Onyar, which neatly divides the city in two, separating the old from the new.

Continue your visit in Verges, a village with remains of medieval walls and towers, where there’s time to self-explore the mysterious small village of Verges. At 10pm punctually the Performance of the Passion of Christ begins. The play is represented by amateur actors and actresses, that year after year impress the people who come from all over Catalonia to assist to the play.

Tradition continues right after with the Dance of Death, a medieval tradition strongly rooted within the population that has endured to the present day. The Dance of the Dead is a solemn dance performed throughout the course of the procession, with five skeletons that come out to the sound of a drum and reminds us that time is short.
